Our history

The second oldest champagne house in history

La seconde plus ancienne Maison de Champagne - chanoine frères

Chanoine Frères is the second oldest Champagne house, founded under the reign of Louis XV. Pierre Chanoine founded Chanoine Frères in 1730, digging the first Champagne wine cellars on rue du Faubourg in Epernay to store his wines in bottles instead of barrels, following the royal edict of March 25, 1728.
